On International Labour Day last 1 May, we celebrated one of Vilamendhoo ‘s most valuable assets, OUR TEAM. As a resort, we are in the business of looking after people, and our team members take a significant part who embody our ideals. We are also celebrating World Turtle Day on 23 May, an annual observance that aims to raise awareness and protect turtles and tortoises and their disappearing habitats around the world. Vilamendhoo is fortunate to be located in the South Ari Atoll, a year-round turtle hotspot with seasonal turtles nesting on our island. You may check this turtle hatching video from last year. Guests at Vilamendhoo can join our ecologically considerate ‘ Turtle Excursion ’ for a chance to spot and swim with these graceful creatures. We have also launched a social media campaign called #TurtleTuesday, where we share interesting facts about sea turtles and ways of protecting them.
